Book edition Samizdat was founded in 1999 after the Radio B92 was banned by the regime. The first layout of that edition was adapted to the new situation and to the name of the publishing house. Book covers and pages were made of recycled paper, with minimalistic design, while the layout was designed in constructivist manner. For the first four covers, design was created by Group Škart, and Borut Vild created layout design. Covers of this edition gave the opportunity for inspiring design and completely personal interpretation of the content. Collages of authentic photographs were dominant, as well as of those taken from archive material, depending on the book subject. Freedom in "personal story telling" by design is an opportunity that not so many designers have in their life. That is why the space was completely used. Even though photo collages are strong, the name of the author and the name of the book are dominant.
